Riana Taylor

BIO:

 

Riana Taylor is a professional illustrator who attends Savannah College of Art and Design, pursuing a BFA in Illustration. Born in New Orleans and raised in Atlanta, she has pursued various fine arts throughout her life, introduced by family and later pursued independently through her drawings.  Alongside illustration, she does graphic design work, primarily in designing logos and typefaces. First and foremost she is an illustrator, finishing up her education as a senior illustration student, and eagerly seeks work through both studios and freelance.

 

ARTIST STATEMENT:

 

Throughout my life, my family encouraged us to pursue arts. Though I tried out various fine arts, like music and painting, I found my heart in drawing and illustration. From being the artist in group projects or the random drawing here and there for my family, illustration became a part of me. My sister even gifted me with my first iPad and from there I was thrown into the world of digital art, really bringing my imagination and dreams to life. As a child, I used to see promotions and posters for companies like Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon and wonder just how these images were created. Through my formal education and different methods of self-teaching, I was able to begin to create similar images of my own. I love characters and people and being able to draw them in my everyday career wouldn’t even feel like a job, but recreation!
